Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Religion

Image
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "If any one of you improve (follows strictly) his Islamic religion then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is." REA boss gives reasons why Nigeria’s rural electrification projects are delayed

Image
Lack of reliable data and paucity of funds may scuttle the dream of getting supplying electricity to rural communities across the country, the Rural Electrification Nigeria Agency (REA Target) Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi, has said. She spoke during the week at the 2018 edition of the Nigeria Off-Grid Innovations and Summit in Lagos. She said Nigeria needed to provide adequate information on people living in rural and semi-urban areas, before it could effectively utilise the $200 million loan expected from African Development Bank (AfDB). According to her, the bane of the power industry is poor funding and access to reliable data on the people who need electricity. Ogunbiyi said government should not think that power programmes or policies would materialise without the involvement of the private sector, noting that such has never worked in the past. 2019 presidency: What will happen if PDP wins election – Amaechi

Image
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has told Nigerians that it would be disasterous if the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, returns to power in 2029. Amaechi said the party was “desperate and hungry for power.’’ He spoke at a Special Town Hall Meeting on Infrastructure organised by the Ministry of Information and Culture in Ibadan. The Minister said the PDP, while in power, turned the nation to a “feeding bottle” by abandoning critical infrastructure and “ sucking” the economy for personal gains. The minister urged Nigerians to resist the PDP by voting for Buhari and ensuring that they guarded their votes during the 2019 general elections. Amaechi also said that the ruling party was prepared for an open debate with the PDP on the successes recorded, especially on infrastructure development. “We are ready for the PDP candidate to confront us with what they achieved in 16 years and compare them to what we have done in just thr

Restructuring would not end Nigeria’s problems – Emir Sanusi

Image
The Emir of Kano, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, has said he is deeply worried whenever the topic of restructuring Nigeria is being debated among the elite. According to him, it was uncertain that restructuring would end the problems of the country. He spoke on Thursday at the third edition of Justice Anthony Aniagolu Memorial Lecture held at the Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. Emir Sanusi said Nigerians, especially the educated ones, should stop avoiding the more relevant issues that should be critically looked at when talking about restructuring. He said: “In this country, we have developed a habit of running away from problems by creating diversions. If you look across the world, you will find every kind of structure. “Here in Nigeria, we glorify the First Republic. We glorify the 1963 Constitution; if it was so good, why did we have a coup? It’s easy to romanticize the past. I have issues with this system. “My issues have nothing to do w

New minimum wage: NLC reveals what increment of workers salary will do to economy

Image
The President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba, has said that the proposed upward review of workers’ minimum wage will boost the country’s economy rather than trigger inflation. He stated this in Delta State while addressing newsmen on Thursday. He was in the state as a Special Guest at the 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the National Union of Hotels and Personal Services Workers. He said that the assertion that an increase in workers’ salary would lead to inflation was not true. “It is not true and has no empirical bases that an upward review of minimum wage would trigger inflation in the country. “This is because when the minimum wage was increased in 2011, in fact, the inflation rates went down. “Go and look at the records and the data, it would rather boost the economy because it would increase the people’s disposable income. “You remember that in the midst of recession in the U.S., one of the strategies Preside

New minimum wage: Presidency speaks on paying workers N30,000

Image
Femi Adesina, spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari, has said N30,000 as minimum wage for civil servants is not feasible. The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has been at loggerheads with the federal government, over a demand for an increase in the minimum wage. Labour has rejected the proposal of the federal government to raise the minimum wage from N18,000 to N24,000. Speaking on Channels TV programme on Thursday, Adesina admitted that some Governors were unable to pay the N18,000, not to talk of N30,000. “So if they can’t pay N18,000 and labour is asking for N30,000 and they refuse to come lower, there may be a stalemate which will not be good for the country. “I think in the spirit of negotiation, labour should not insist on N30,000,” he said. Asked if the political class “especially members of the All Progressives Congress (APC)” agreeing to reduce their salaries will not make the new minimum wage demand possible, the presidential spokesman replied: “

Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Reward

Image
A’ishah (RA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “When a woman gives some of the foodstuff (which she has in her house) in charity without being extravagant (without being wasteful), she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband will receive the reward because of his earning, and the keeper (if any) will be similarly rewarded. The reward of one will not decrease the reward of the others.” Agreed upon. (Bulugh al-Maram, Book 4, Hadith 637) Allah’s reward for US is truly unlimited. It all depends on our intentions. You could have the sincere intention to do something absolutely amazing, and something happens and you weren’t able to carry out that good deed, but you’ll still be rewarded :) How amazing is our Lord. Say Alhamdulillah!

The 24hour curfew in Kaduna has continued to make life extremely difficult for residents who are being hit by hunger and boredom. President Buhari Shades Past Presidents Over Poor State Of Nigerian Airports

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday again took a swipe at his predecessors, saying they did little to increase passenger handling capacity or airport terminals since early 1980s. Buhari made the claim in his remarks at the inauguration of the new terminal of the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa, River State. He said the neglect by successive governments couple with increase in the nation’s population made the airport terminals to become woefully inadequate to cater for the increase in passenger traffic. The President said it, therefore, became necessary for government to take decisive action to ensure the nation’s airport terminals meet minimum international standards for the travelling public. Sixteen Things Most People Do Wrongly

Image
The fact is that no matter how we try to do things carefully or rightly, there are still some mistakes that we never know we make. Such mistakes are often made in the toilet, bathroom, shower, etc. Flushing the toilet while the lid is open Most people do not actually take note of this error without knowing that the lid is meant to be closed while flushing in order to keep the gross particles in the toilet and out of air. A Microbiologist from the University of Arizona, Charles Gerba said that fecal matters and urine can fly as far as six feet away from the toilet bowl during each flush. Rubbing your body aggressively with towel It is better to pat your body dry to maintain the lipids, proteins and fatty acids that protect your skin from irritation and could be removed if you rub your body aggressively with a towel.
