Kwesé Free Sports Signs Oshoala as Brand Ambassador

24-hour sports TV station, Kwesé Free Sports (KFS) UHF 32, has signed the 2017 African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, as its brand ambassador in Nigeria.
The Nigeria professional footballer and Dalian Quanjian F.C. forward, will become the face of the Kwesé Free Sports brand promoting the channels’ sporting content and supporting its initiatives. She will feature in Kwesé Free Sports’s advertising commercials encompassing radio, television, print and digital. She will make appearances at Kwesé Free Sports events and feature as a guest analyst in its studios.
Arguably Nigeria’s best female footballer, Asisat Oshoala’s honours include; the African Women’s Footballer of the Year 2014, 2016 and 2017, and the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2015.

 


 
Also a Super Falcons star, Asisat was named; best player and highest goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada, and best player and second highest goal scorer with the Super Falcons at the 2014 African Women Championship in Namibia.
Aware that a lot of young girls look up to her for inspiration, she launched the Asisat Oshoala Foundation to mentor and groom young girls who aspire to be the best they can be in their chosen endeavour, not necessarily football, and giving them a new lease of life. The foundation has in recent times reached out to little kids in orphanages across Lagos, devoting her time in well-meaning charity causes particularly in her home country, Nigeria.
General Manager, Kwesé Free Sports Nigeria, Chichi Nwoko explained that Kwesé Free Sports will support the Asisat Oshoala Foundation as part of its commitment to youth development through sports.
“We believe that Asisat exemplifies what Kwesé Free Sports stands for. We want to be the vehicle through which she tells the story of women through her foundation”, Nwoko said.

300 level ABU student commits suicide over ‘lack of parental love’

A   300 level student of the  Ahmadu Bello University , Zaria, ABU Aisha Omolola, has committed suicide in her apartment at Samaru area of Zaria. Aisha, TALKERlearned, drank a bottle of insecticide on December 26, 2018, leaving a note where she stated the reason for her action. In her suicide note, the deceased blamed her parents for her action, saying they made life a living hell for her. The suicide note read: “Just like I said, If I am no more, please hold my family especially my mum and dad responsible.
